Hello. My name is John Cesarone, and I am a freelance technical writer, based in Chicago.
What makes for a successful collaboration between a freelance writer and a client? Basically, it comes down to a question of how well the skills and aptitudes of the writer match the needs and goals of the client. That is the purpose of this website: so that you and I can "pre-screen" each other to see if a good match might exist.
I am a Mechanical Engineer by training, and a communicator by experience. Having worked in industry, academia, and consulting, I am familiar with the needs for precise communication from many perspectives. I have a Ph.D. from Northwestern University, and am very familiar with scientific research and the specialized requirements of technical communications. In addition to my technical writing, I currently teach engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
The attached pages will help you decide if my skills are a good match with your needs. An overview of the types of work I have performed is presented on the "Past Assignments" page, and samples of some recent publications are listed on the "Samples" page. My resume is also attached, and finally, my contact information.
In a nutshell: if you are concerned that your freelance writer might not understand the science and technology behind your project, if you are worried that this might cause errors in the final product, and if you want a writer that can add technical knowledge as well as wordsmithing, then I might be the person you need.
If you would like to discuss anything further, please feel free to give me a call at 312.493.0839 or an e-mail at any time.
